Mod fashion was a colorful new style of clothing worn in the mid-1960s and early 70s that used circles, lines, and squares in black or white trim to dramatize simple clothing. It was very effective. Most 60s dresses were brightly colored solids with minimal design and very short hems. Mods also wore blazers, sometimes brightly striped boating blazers. Sports jackets in a similar style were also worn, as well as suits. A favorite casual jacket was the Harrington. The Mods girls had neat, short hair, cut in simple geometric styles. They wore twin sets from Marks and Spencer, combined with A-line skirts. Mod girls also wore trousers and men's shirts.
