The topic about the website is the youth subculture, Mods. Mods is a subculture that began in London in 1958 and spread throughout Great Britain and elsewhere, eventually influencing fashions and trends in other countries. In modern society, British style is a kind of style evolved from Mods culture. What I will focus on the website is the Mods culture in the 1960s. And the project will show the Mods girl’s fashion style by illustrations. I choose this subculture because it attracts me by its simple and neat tailored garments and it looks like the garments that we will choose nowadays.

The early Mods group was the class two of the labor, at the end of the second world war, the soldiers return home after their children about the age of teenage rebellion. Mods group formed due to the agitation of the generation gap with their parents, and the boring depressed of the British suburban life. They want to express themselves in a depressive life so they went to earn money to buy their favorite clothing, spent time in the coffee bar, danced in the club and so on.

In the 1960s, Mods groups formed their own fashion styles. They were very dress-conscious, suits had to be tailored, not bought off-the-peg, cropped trousers, knitted ties, and hand-made shoes as well as a basic outfit. The Mods girls in that period worn the tailored neutral gender pants and the man style T-shirt, mini skirt, polo shirt, and twin-set. They liked to cut their hair in a short, neat style, and they liked to choose the bright color clothing with some exaggerated pattern.
